Two Day Long International Conference on Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) held in Brick Lane, East London by Brick Lane Jam-e-Mosque Trust, London, UK

A two day long international conference to celebrate the Holy Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) was held on the 6^th and 7^th March 2010 in London under the banner of the historical Brick Lane Jame Mosque. The conference was presided over by Pirzada Maulana Zillur Rahman Choudhury Dubagi, Khatib, Brick Lane Jame Mosque. Eminent scholars and honourable guests from different parts of the world spoke at the conference. The eminent guests were Ex-Home Minister of Kuwait and chief scholar of Refayee Tarikha his Excellency Shaykh Allama Syed Yousuf Hashim al-Refa’i; chief scholar of Alawi Tarikha and a resident of holy Makkah Shaykh Syed Abbas ibn Alawi al-Maliki al-Makkhi; Professor of Al Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt Allama Professor Dr. Shaykh Mohammad Abu Layla; President of Ahle-Sunnat-wal-Jamat of South-East India Shaykh Allama Syed Junaid Ahmad al-Madani; advisor of Anjumane-al-Islah, ex-President of Ulama Society, UK and Pir-e-Tarikat Shaykul Hadith Allama Mufti Mujahid Uddin Choudhury Dubagi; Secretary General of Anjuman-e-al-Islah, Bangladesh, Sahebzada Maulana Husam Uddin Choudhury Fultoli; President of Anjuman-e-al-Islah Shaykul Hadith Allama Habibur Rahman; President of Governing Body of Darul Hadith Latifia Mufti Allama Alauddin; Director of London Minhajul Quran Allama Sadiq Quraishi; President Anjuman-e-al-Islah UK Hafiz Maulana Abdul Jalil; Chairman of London Fatwa Council Allama Shaykh Yazdani Reza al-Misbahi; Chief executive of Coventry Hizaz College Barrister Allama Faizul Akhtab Siddiqui; Ex-Principal of London Darul Hadith Mufti Maulana Ilias Hussain; Popular commentator of Bangla TV UK Maulana Shofikur Rahman Biplobi; Khatib of Enfield Jame Mosque Mufti Maulana Abdur Rahman Nizami; another popular presenter of Bangla TV UK and Khatib of Baitul Aman Mosque  Maulana Abdul Malik; Khatib of Shadwell Jame Mosque Maulana Siddikur Rahman Choudhury; Khatib of Stepney Shahjalal Mosque Maulana Abdul Kahhar; Khatib of Poplar Central Mosque Hafiz Abdus Shahid; teacher of Coventry Hezaz College  Maulana Abul Hasan; Khatib of Keighley Jame Mosque Hafiz Maulana Helal Ahmed; Head Teacher of Latifia Girls School Maulana Farid Ahmed Choudhury; Maulana Sad Uddin Siddiqui of Luton; Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. In addition, there were many other speakers who also presented very important discussions.

The conference was jointly presented by Imam of Brick Lane Mosque Maulana Nazrul Islam and Second Imam Hafiz Motiul Haque. Hafiz Sajjadur Rahman also helped them. In the second day Khatib of Uxbridge Jame Mosque Maulana Qari Waliur Rahman Choudhury Dubagi recited from the Holy Quran, Maulana Bulbul sang a Hamd and Maulana Abdul Wadud Latifi sang a Naa’t. Another Naa’t-e-Rasul was also sung by Qari Mohammad Mohiyus Sunnah Choudhury Dubagi, Syed Hussain Ahmed and Shakir Ahmed Choudhury Dubagi in a group on that day. There was a big rally led by his Excellency Ex-Home Minister of Kuwait and chief scholar of Refa’i Tarikha his Excellency Shaykh Allama Syed Yousuf Hashim Refa’i and Pir-e-Tarikat Shaykul Hadith Allama Mufti Mujahid Uddin Choudhury Dubagi after Zuhr prayer in the first day to celebrate the Milad-un-Nabi (sm) which started from the historic Brick lane Jam-e-Mosque. A lot of Muslims who love our Prophet (sm), from different parts of the UK joined the rally. By crossing different roads of East London the rally finally ended back at the starting point outside Brick Lane Jam-e-Mosque.

Thousands of people both male and female attended the conference with respect for the Prophet (sm) and a good sensation. To control the gathering the management faced a lot of troubles. Needless to say that it was the most successful conference in the area ever arranged. On both days the conference started after Zuhr salat and continued up to 9.00 pm.  The invited scholars and the speakers discussed about Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) on the basis of the four authentic documents Quran, Hadith, Ijma and Kias and proved that celebrating the holy Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) is permitted and only the true lovers of our Holy Prophet (sm) use the day to commemorate his birth anniversary with respect and love. Those who do not obey our Prophet (sm) are basically against celebrating the Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) and give opposing Fatwas.

One of the honourable guests, chief scholar of Alawi Tarikha, a resident of Holy Makkah and Awlad-e-Rasul Shaykh Syed Abbas ibn Alawi al-Maliki al-Makkhi presented very important lectures in the conference on the basis of Quran, Hadith, Ijma and Kias on both the days and proved that Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) is permitted and very important for the Muslims. He said ‘from the days of Hazrat (sm) we the Muslims in different parts of the world used to celebrate Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm). Some people say Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) is celebrated only in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. This is not true’. He also said, ‘My father was the Imam of Qaba Sharif, we are the descendants of Hazrat (sm), my forefathers used to celebrate Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm), and we are also continuing its celebration each and every year. The fact is that with the help of non-Muslim intelligence agencies, the wahhabi’s, salafi’s and non-mazhabi’s captured the political power of the Arab world and established kingship over there, starting propaganda against Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm). They banned all sorts of rallies and conferences to celebrate Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) in the Arab world. But the religious and Prophet (sm) loving Arabs and other Muslims used to celebrate the day and are still doing so. Those who say that in the Arabian countries especially the people of Makkah and Madina do not celebrate Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) are liars. Makkah is the birth place of our Prophet (sm) and people of the Makkah love him a lot and they celebrate his birthday each and every year. He further said, in Arabia after capturing state power, the Wahhabi’s are banning Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm), praying, graveyard ziarat (visiting) celebrating Shab-e-Barat, celebrating Shab-e-Meraj, obeisance to mother and father by touching their feet with respect and love, praying sunnat, nafal and mustahab salah etc. Ignoring those obstacles, we the descendant’s of Rasul (sm) are still celebrating Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) in Makkah, Madina and other places around the world’, he said. He asked all the Muslims in the world to celebrate Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) with proper respect and joy, so that we can receive his (Rasul’s) love. Hazrat (sm) was Nabi of Noor (light), immaculate, innocent, masum, and sinless. From Hazrat Adam (a) to Hazrat Abdullah (r) and mother of the believers, Mother Amena (r), all were innocent and immaculate. No doubt they are placed in heaven. The people, who used to say that the family members of Hazrat (sm) are Jahannami (hell), are criminal, guilty and liars. They are hurting our Prophet (sm). Syed Alawi requested the Muslims of Bangladesh which is a country of Wali-Allah (bujurgan-e-din) specially Hazrat Shahjalal (r), to celebrate Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) each and every year, always to perform Milad Sharif in the house so that we can have special blessings (rahmat) of Allah (swt). And be careful from the Wahhibi’s, they are the enemy of Rasul (sm). We are residents of the holy place of Rasul (sm), we celebrate Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm), Shab-e-Barat and also do ziarat (visiting) to the graveyard and all other good deeds. I request to all of you to do all those good deeds. He presented lectures on both days of the conference.  He presented authentic documents on Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) and performed Milad Sharif and kiam (standing) with thousands of people and recited salatu salam and prayed to the Almighty Allah (swt).

Ex-Home Minister of Kuwait and chief scholar of Refa’i Tarikha, his Excellency Awlad-e-Rasul (sm), Shaykh Allama Syed Yousuf Hashim Refa’i said in his speech, nothing would have been created by Allah (swt) if Allah (swt) did not intend to create Holy Prophet (sm) in this world. From the beginning of Islam the day of Hazrat’s (sm) birth was being celebrated in the world. He said, “We are the descendants of Hazrat (sm), and we celebrate the day in Kuwait, Makkah, Madina and other places of the world. It is proved by the authentic documents like Quran, Sunnah, Ijma and Kias. Nobody can prove that celebrating Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) is prohibited and not permitted. There is no document against it. As we are celebrating the day each and every year, my request to all of you is to celebrate the day in your country as we do. He further said, those who are against Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) are Jahil (ignorant)”.

Professor of Al Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt Allama Professor Dr. Shaykh Mohammad Abu Layla said in his lecture, “those who celebrate Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) with respect and joy will be kept with Hazrat (sm) in the final day of judgement by Allah (swt) under the shadow of Allah’s (swt) Arsh (throne)”. He further said, “we celebrate Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) each and every year in Egypt and in different Arab countries. You also do as we do”. He proved on the basis of the authentic documents of the holy Quran, Hadith, Ijma and Kias that celebrating Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) is permitted and requested everybody to perform it.

President of Ahle Sunnat wal Jamat of South- East India Shaykh Allama Syed Junaid Ahmad al-Madani said in his speech that in India they also celebrate the Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) each and every year. In promoting Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) of the subcontinent, the role of renowned Allama in the subcontinent Allama Fultoli Sahib kibla (r) is noteworthy. He was attacked several times by the opposition who are against Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) in various places while propagating in favour of Milad sharif. May Allah (swt) accept him in the Jannat. Allama Junaid also said that Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) celebration is permitted by the authentic documents. So we should perform it each and every year. He also urged everyone to read the book Milad-e-Benazir of the renowned scholar, author of many books Shaykul Hadith Allama Mufti Mujahid Uddin Choudhury Dubagi where all the proofs and evidences of this topic can be located. 

Overall, in the conference the world renowned Islamic scholars proved the religious legality of celebrating Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) for the Muslims. In the conference all the scholars requested the Muslims to save their faith (Iman) from the rejected doctrines of wahhabi, salafi, jamati, moududi, la-majhabi peoples. They also requested the Muslims to avoid those who are against Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) and to say prayers with special love to Rasulullah (sm). Finally, Milad Sharif was performed and the final monajat (prayer) was made. All the Islamic scholars, guests and the participating Muslims were very happy to attend such a successful conference.

The president of Brick Lane Jame Mosque Alhaj Ataur Rahman Choudhury, Vice President Mr. Sajjad Mia and Secretary Mr. Helal Uddin Ali on behalf of the mosque committee thanked all the scholars, guests and the Muslims for attending the two day long conference and making it a great success. They also committed that each and every year they will arrange such a conference to celebrate the holy Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm). Pir-e-Tarikat Shaykul Hadith Hazrat Allama Mufti Mujahid Uddin Choudhury Dubagi thanked the mosque committee for arranging such a successful conference. He also thanked the scholars for their great presentation and all the Muslims for their cordial attendance. The special guests, chief scholar of Alawi Tarikha, Shaykh Allama Syed Yousuf Hashim Refa’i and Awlade Rasul (sm) Shaykh Syed Abbas ibn Alawi al-Maliki al-Makkhi were so happy that, in the last day, they presented a Jubba of Alawi tarikha of Makkah to the president of the conference and khatib of Brick Lane Jame Mosque Maulana Zillur Rahman Choudhury Dubagi.

From the two day long conference it has been proved that Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) is being celebrated each and every year in Makkah, Madina, Kuwait, Egypt, and other Muslim countries in the world. Even, if only one Rasul (sm) lover is alive in the world, Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi (sm) will still be celebrated, no doubt. On the other hand the opponents will be propagating but there will be no result for them. At last the president of the mosque committee Alhaj Ataur Rahman Choudhury thanked all the participants, journalists, police, local authority, businessmen, volunteers, and journalists especially the media partner, Bangla TV UK for all their help in making the conference such an immense success.
